a Rough Equine Lineage of Constellation Draco

these are the evolutionary fictional horses of the realm, those with the standard 4 limbs evolved first as naturally they would, and during the era of the large flying dragons, terrestrial crocodiloforms, and luckily many other large mammals as well.

during the "ConDraco-Mesozoic" period, there were no dinosaurs (theropod or ornithischian) and no pterosaurs, pterosaurs never came to be with the early draconiforms taking to the skies. Since there was only one mass extinction at the end of this Mesozoic era, there were no dividers of periods (triassic, jurassic, cretaceous) allowing the "Permian-like"crocodiloforms to thrive and grow similar to postosuchus and sarcosuchus, while the herbivore niche was filled by giant mammals and some creodonts as well

AAAnnnyyway.. the horses that existed alongside dragons were only four limbed, and being that speed wasnt enough to survive in a world with giant predators like the dragons, they also developed an evolutionary base for horns to evolve. this spurred the beginning of unicorns and other horned species of equine.

the horses that existed after the reign of dragons were not just the four limbed kind that lived on land, but there was also a genetic mutation that sparked an extra pair of limbs which would soon become wings .. HERE'S HOW!!

6 limbed eohippus evolved slightly more upright and evolved into the more nimble Centaurs. They used their upper arms for grasping and occasional climbing, which similar to early birds also led to stronger chest muscles and the lengthening of matted hair pieces, paralleling the birds. The shift in bone structure soon led to the rise of Thestrals, branching off into Pegasi, theeen branching off into .. da da da daaaa GRIFFINS!!

Griffins are more birdlike than any of the other flying equine, but this one trait makes them the one species of flying horse that has become true monotremes
