Golden Smacklejaw - 2015 concept

Its been a long time since i've started to develop the designs on these guys a bit .. or at least one of em

this is probably the most iconic member of my little project, for a while its been left as a still-developing original story.

for now its known as Constellation Draco; a story about a parallel universe in which earth's natural history of evolution is rewritten by creatures of mythology, and the story of a Knight, a Goblin, and a dragon chick who work to unite the people and creatures of the world in an effort to create peace and balance, and the story of a modern day historian who aims to learn the stories behind the fossils they left behind. 

for years i've been working on this project, but only certain aspects have been developed here and there, mainly the designs of the dragons, making them more plausible and giving them exactly what they need to fly. most of it sacrifices the traditional dragon designs, but i hope to find new designs that allow them to still be awesome yet realistic. other aspects of the story have been developed over the years to give the story the meaning and impact it deserves, in order for people to understand why their work is so important, and hopefully change what it means to create harmony and balance despite the struggles of medieval warfare and conflict.

so for this old thing i kinda didnt feel like doing a fully rendered model, so i just made a chibified wyvern design with a few updates, cus all i set out to do was to find a good concept for a new color scheme. the golden patterns remain more or less the same, but i wanted markings that would fit a little bit better. maybe i'll apply this methods to the other dragons as well.
