Bonus Kaiju - the Americans

Description

every once in a while i doodle up some extra kaiju just for fun, and give em a little bit of a modern age update as well as making them cute as heckie, Clover's pretty modern though so there's no need for updates really

idk if there's a theme or anything for how kaiju are supposed to be designed, but it seems for each franchise there's a small theme somewhere.
*in the Toho/Legendary universe the kaiju are creatures of nature, extra-terrestrial weapons, or just legends who have been saving the world for centuries, so they mainly represent some kind of natural creature of some sort, and their indestructibility serves as a metaphor on mankind's insignificance and how we should just stop everything altogether
*in the Pacific Rim universe the kaiju are genetically engineered clones sent to wipe out humanity, designed as neon-styled alien monsters but at the same time designed in a way that a person could fit into a hypothetical suit, and their strength can only be matched by Jaegers, making it necessary for the world to keep building robots
*in most American kaiju films (just regular giant monster movies) they seem to have some giant beast hiding somewhere that wreaks havoc for some unexplained reason, usually something like a reptile or a fish or a bug, and usually some male protagonist has to save a damsel in distress while the monster eventually suffers some tragic end

and for some reason they tend to have longer arms than legs (i just noticed that yesterday while drawing these guys haha)

someone who did a review on the 1998 Godzilla noted that "Americans don't like to have a monster that they can't kill" which explains why he died at the end, and the reason why Rhedo was killed too, along with Clover assumed dead as well.. and i just realized the same thing applies to King Kong as well, but i already drew him ages ago :P

im not taking requests btw, im just doing this cus I wanted to, so please gimme time to finish the others and shut up all of you :P

i do not own the Beast From 20,000 Fathoms or Cloverfield, they belong to their filmmakers
