Description

Bimoogi Lindworm

One of the most peculiar of the serpents on Constellation Draco is the Lindworm family. Members of the serpent family, they're one of the many examples of evolutionary intelligence. Lindworms are mostly found on deserted islands in the offshore regions of the oceans, most of which are inhabited by large, cat sized insects which turn most of the island into a colony of different insect colonies. The insects are not tribal however, thus making them more suitable as prey for the lindworms, since most dragons try hard not to interfere with tribal creatures. Lindworms have evolved from the swampdons that crawled onto land and took to a 'reptavian' way of life. While most serpents stayed reptilian in appearance, the lindworms evolved in a different branch where serpents almost evolved into birds. This branch included the feathered shumru and the ampitheres, but what makes the lindworm unique is the fact that they mirror the ampitheres; while the ampithere evolved fused limbs to create a double set of wings, the lindworms evolved fused limbs for specialized running and climbing. All the running effort has been put from the front legs and the back legs together, to create a speedy, agile, fleet footed predator that hunts giant insects. If it werent for the large predatory scorpions, they would have become the apex predator long ago.

Males are lighter in color and have longer quills, Females are kinda more dull in color with shorter quills, the same goes for most dragon species of Constellation Draco

this was a suggestion to make by :iconchezbubbles:
the background was actually taken by me (whaaaa??) during a nature walk at the Malibu Crk State Park.. in California :P so yes i own the dragons and the background, but not Malibu Creek

Just to ask, when you say the front and back limbs fused together, has the former shoulderblade on the forearm fused with the femur of the back leg?
